There are hundreds of zombies games out there but most of them are casual time killers. Ember Entertainment's Empire Z' approach is absolutely different. It merges the best of both management and RTS games and apply a layer of zombie apocalypse. The result is a well-balanced game that makes all sense.
A city building gameplay perfectly fits a post-apocalyptic smashed world. That's actually the survivor's main need: building facilities that grants their security and allows them rebuild the civilization. And that's your mission in Empire Z. Well, that and make sure neither hordes of zombies nor other clans take over your place. And when I say "other" clans, I mean real players trying to survive in this desolate world. Of course, you can also team them up.
Both graphics and gameplay is similar to other titles within the genre. You can speed up building and troops training process with gold and grow your own resources. Watch out in-app purchases if you are letting your kids play it. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a fun game to check out over the weekend, then Halfbrick Studios' Fish Out Of Water is certainly worth checking out. The game has now arrived on Google Play as well as the Amazon App Store after hitting over 5 million downloads on iOS. Aside from the pleasant look of the game, Fish Out Of Water is simple to pick up and get into.
To get started, you can pick from six different 'fish' to skip across the sea as far as possible thanks to the one-touch gameplay but they each have their own unique properties: one explodes into a school of multiple fish, another has smooth scales to maximize distance, the whale is light (for some reason) and bounces particularly high, while the dolphin can dive beneath the waves and come out the other side with plenty of velocity.
To add some difficulty to the mix, the game's weather changes hourly, so during one match, you may have perfectly calm waters, while the next day you may be wrestling against massive waves. Fish Out Of Water is a free download but it does include some in-app purchases like most games these days. They're not intrusive or pushy, so it has that going for it. From the images, a major difference in the design of the Xperia Z3 from its predecessors appears to be curved sides, which should make the device more comfortable to hold. Other than that, the design is largely unchanged from the Xperia Z1 and the Z2, as the device in the leaked images features a magnetic connector, micro-SIM slot, microSD slot, rounded power button, dedicated camera shutter key and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top.
Other than the 3.5mm jack, all the ports are covered, which means that the Xperia Z3 will likely offer similar protection against dust and water as the Xperia Z1/Z2. Am image of the camera sensor reveals that Sony is sticking with the 20.7 MP Exmor RS image sensor that was seen on the last two Xperia Z handsets.
The design showcased in these images may be of a prototype unit, and as such may not be indicative of what the retail model would look like. As for an official launch, it is estimated that Sony would unveil the Xperia Z3 at the IFA later this year. What do you think of the device in question?
